Medication in School

June 10, 2019
Dear Parents/Guardians of Coupeville School District Students,
As the end of the school year approaches, please consider the health and safety of all our students by reading this important information regarding end of year medication pickup and health information needed for the next school year.
  • If Medication was provided for your student this year: Please make arrangements to have all medications picked up by 3 pm on June 18, 2019. Any medications that have not been picked up by that time will be discarded. We cannot store any medications during the summer break.
  • Returning students that have health concerns and/or will need medications at school next year: Please have the enclosed forms completed during the summer break by your student’s licensed health care provider. The provider may use their own Individual Care Plans in lieu of the one provided; however, if the student will be receiving medication during school hours, or needs rescue medication (whether self-carry meds or kept in our health room), it is imperative that the Authorization for Medication at School form be completed and signed by a licensed health care provider. Parents or guardians will also need to sign and date the form. Without this form, students will not be able to carry any medication on them, and/or we will not be able to administer medications to them. Any unauthorized medications, including over the counter medications, will be confiscated and parents will be responsible for picking them up by the end of the day.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We will be available to take in medications with a completed Authorization for Medication at School form the week before school starts, beginning August 27th. Any questions or concerns can be addressed to the school nurse, Morgan Driscoll, R.N. at or Andrea Downs at
Jennifer Wutzke, R.N.
