General Responsibilities: This position is full-time (1.0 FTE) with continuing contract starting 2012-2013
school year. Assignment may be middle/high school life-skills, transition, or resource room or a combination
thereof. Candidates with the ability and willingness to accept advisorships, co-curricular positions, and
other supervisory activities are desired. We are seeking two (2) qualified candidates.


Qualifications: Applicants must have a valid Washington State teaching certificate with an endorsement in
Special Education. Must also meet NCLB highly qualified requirements in Reading or Math with preference
given to candidates with both subjects. A demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the instructional
process is required.


Salary: Coupeville School District, under the terms of a Collective Bargaining Agreement, pays teachers in
accordance with the state salary schedule. Benefits are in accordance with a Collective Bargaining
Agreement.

Education endorsement. Must also meet NCLB highly qualified requirements in Art or Music with preference

process is required.

2012-2013 Co-Curricular Positions

Coaches facilitate development and safety of members of the team, schedule practices, attend games, maintain equipment, and generally perform any duties required for the performance of the activity. Assistant coaches work at the direction of the head coach.

Class advisors work with students and class officers in the assigned grade to develop leadership skills, to schedule appropriate activities for the year, and to maintain appropriate records of meetings, income, and expenditures.

Academic activity advisors organize, facilitate, coordinate, supervise, and direct student participation in a competitive academic activity. 

Concessions manager makes all necessary arrangements to sell a variety of concessions at designated high school and middle school varsity and junior varsity home events. Responsibilities may include ordering all food and beverages; keeping an accurate inventory; getting volunteer help when needed; keeping accurate records; and reconciling cash sales.


Qualifications: Generally candidates must have the ability to communicate and work well with others. They must be available to attend meetings, practices, and events outside of school hours. Athletic coaches must be willing to certify in first aid/CPR. Concessions manager must have a general knowledge of kitchen and workplace safety practices; have or be willing to obtain a current food handler's permit; and have a demonstrated ability to communicate and work well with others.
