2019-2020 First Day of School 

School starts on Tuesday, September 3rd, for 1st-5th grades! 

Our kindergarten students will join us on Friday, September 6th, and our preschool students will join us on Monday, September 9th.

School starts promptly at 9 a.m. We are so excited to have our students back! Keep an eye out for some first day photos, which will be published on our Facebook page next week! You can access the link by scrolling to the bottom of the page.

If you have a child who will be five (5) years of age by August 31, 2019, we look forward to having them join us for kindergarten this fall. 

Please help us by planning ahead and registering your child.  Pre-registration will begin Monday, March 18, 2019.  Paperwork is available at the elementary school office. For planning purposes early registration is encouraged and appreciated.

Registration Requirements:

•You must have a copy of your child's birth certificate; and

•Proof of immunization.  Minimum vaccines required for school attendance:

4 doses DTP provided the last dose was given on or after the 4th birthday

3 doses of Polio vaccine (OPV or IPV) provided the last dose was given on or after

the 4th birthday

2 doses MMR given on or after the first birthday

3 doses HepB vaccine

2 doses Varicella vaccine on or after the first birthday or date the child had chicken pox. 

Pre-registration will continue through June 21, 2019.


Our kindergarten staff will be conducting a Whole Child Assessment of each of our prospective kindergarten students.  This is a tool our teachers use to help measure student knowledge, skills and behaviors.  Please sign up for a time slot as soon as possible.  We will be conducting sessions of this assessment on: 

Thursday, April 18th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm

Friday, April 26th from 1:00 to 2:30; 3:00 to 4:30

Friday, May 24th from 1:00 to 2:30; 3:00 to 4:30 

We have space for 15 students and their parent(s) at each session.  We ask that you please do not bring siblings to this appointment.

2019-2020 Student Registration 

Parents of children new to the Coupeville School District please plan to register (grades K through 5) at Coupeville Elementary School on August 13th, 14th or 15th. The school office will be open from 9:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 4:00 each of those days. A current immunization record for all grade levels is required at the time of registration. Birth certificates are required for K and first grade. Children must be 5 by August 31st for kindergarten entrance and must be 6 by August 31st for first grade entrance. If children have special needs and/or have been receiving special services, a copy of their current individual education plan at the time of registration is most helpful. Elementary school activities supervised by staff are offered after school. There is a $20 participation fee for each activity.
