Hello Coupeville Middle School Community!

I hope all of you had a safe and relaxing summer. As the CMS team ramps up for the 2018-2019 school year, we wanted to give you a few updates for the start of the year.

School starts on September 4th. We will be on a "regular" bell schedule. We will have grade level assemblies on Wednesday (6th grade), Thursday (7th grade), and Friday (8th grade). These days we will be on our "assembly" schedule.

Schedules are being finalized in Skyward. 6th grade students will receive their schedules in the mail within the next few days and all grade level schedules will be made available on Skyward Monday. Please understand that some schedules may change slightly to even out classes.

One scheduling note: This year we have an exploratory "wheel" made up of 3 trimester long classes. All students who are not in band are scheduled for these classes. Our hope is that while the choices are limited, these classes will be enjoyable for students.

Our CMS Open House will be September 5th from 6:00 to 7:30. This is a great time to come in and meet your teachers!

We are very excited to welcome two new members to the CMS team. Cheyenne Beck is our new full time counselor. Erin Locke is our new PE teacher. Please be sure to stop by and welcome them to the CMS family!

Athletics are getting ready to start! To participate, students must have all paperwork filled out and fees paid. Please contact Ms. Yoder with questions at 678-2414.

Starting dates for MS Sports:
MS Cross Country August 27, 5:30 pm
MS Football August 27, Gear checkout starts at 2:00, first practice August 28 3:30
MS Volleyball September 5, 3:00 pm

If you need the supply list or other information, our school district website is a great resource.

Fees can be paid in the office or online through Skyward. This is a great time to purchase ASB cards to get ASB benefits throughout the year and to support our student activities!

Food service payments can also be paid online or in person.

Schools, and state and local agencies use survey results to support our youth and reduce their risks. The Healthy Youth Survey is voluntary and anonymous and provides important information to guide policy and programs that serve our youth.  Please see the attached information and contact the school with additional questions.
