Internet Access at School

Each student must sign Acceptable Use Agreement for Computer & Internet Usage to abide by district rules for use of the district’s network. The district has established firewalls to block access to inappropriate sites. Families are encouraged to discuss Internet safety in general, including maintaining confidentiality of login/password information.

Acceptable Use

Coupeville School District offers student access to the district computer network and filtered Internet access through our network. The district network has been established for the benefit of students, staff and patrons to improve communication and to augment learning opportunities.

Access to network services is given to students who agree to act in a considerate and responsible manner. Access is a privilege – not a right. Inappropriate computer and/or Internet behavior will result in a student’s computer and Internet access being revoked, as well as possible disciplinary action.

Coupeville School District policy and procedure 6820–Electronic Communication Systems provide a thorough description of acceptable use.

Digital Citizenship

Digital citizenship is appropriate and responsible behavior with regard to technology use. As more students interact digitally–with content, one another, and various communities–the concept of digital citizenship becomes increasingly important. Our goal is to create a community of learners who understand how to use digital resources effectively, efficiently and responsibly. With proper guidance from teachers and parents, our students can make the Internet a better place for sharing and learning.
