• Welcome Arwen Norman as the new School Farm Manager!  Arwen studied biology at the University of Washington, and concluded that more ecologists need to be involved in sustainable food production.  She pursued a hands-on farming education through several internships in western Washington , eventually moving to Whidbey in 2014 to help run SkyRoot Farm.  In addition to building soil and becoming locally famous for lettuce, they trained interns and regularly hosted college classes.  Arwen is excited to continue to combine farming and education at the Coupeville School Farm.

Coupeville's School Farm began in 2020 when Coupeville School District was awarded a two-year, $93,000 USDA Farm to School Grant.  Under the skilled guidance of Kylie Neal, Coupeville's first School Farmer, the back field off Ebey Road was transformed into a 1 acre educational farm, hosting students from all schools and producing thousands of pounds of produce each season for our cafeterias.  Now in 2023, through a generous grant and partnership with the non-profit Coupeville Farm to School, the School Farm continues to grow and serve our students!
