    With a strong commitment to leading instruction and a deep passion for student success, Shannon Leatherwood began her educational journey in 1996. Since then, she has navigated through various educational roles, from classroom teaching to facilitating instruction and district administration. Excelling as both an elementary and middle school principal, Shannon's dedication to student achievement and growth earned her the esteemed title of Washington State Secondary Principal of the Year in 2023.

    With 27 years of valuable experience, Shannon vigorously promotes transparency, collaboration, and robust educational systems. Her enthusiasm for empowering students and educators has led her to share insights at state and national levels. Grounded in her small-town upbringing, she advocates for community engagement, recognizing its crucial role in fostering educational success.

    Committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone belongs, Shannon tirelessly advocates for fair access and opportunities for all stakeholders. Her steadfast dedication to these goals ensures that every child receives a quality education that prepares them for a future full of promise.
